QUILTING VINTAGE

... Breathing new life into Antique & Vintage Linens

Many of us either have Antique or Vintage Linens from previous generations languishing unused in our cupboards or drawers or we come across them cheaply in antique shops

.. In this full-day workshop we look at how we can breathe new life into these pieces.

Taking each 'found piece' independently we look at how we can use our Free-Motion-Quilting skills to enhance the original embroiderers work and give them new purpose !

QUILTING VINTAGE ... PICTURES

... Making the most of
Damaged Antique & Vintage Linens

Sometimes some of the most Beautiful or Exciting pieces we have lying around are badly damaged … as much as we don’t like cutting into the work using smaller fragments can make the most of them and bring them back to life !!

Quilting these fragments, either singularly or combining several such pieces together, can make Beautiful Pictures …  and bringing in other items such as Lace, Beads or Buttons etc. can enhance their beauty !!

This Workshops explores how to make the most of those damaged items.

This picture is 5 x 7 inches.

Testimonials ...

Cecilia is very inspiring and a wonderful quilter; I learned a lot from her particularly confidence in my ability.  I’d suffered a loss of confidence and regained faith in my abilities after the workshops at Little Mill.  Thank you.

Sonia Delice Fox, Vale of Glamorgan

Recently took part in a course with Cecilia. None of us (10 ladies) believed we would achieve what was shown at the start of the course. Well by the end of it we were all amazed at how far we had all come. Everything was well explained and poor Cecilia's patience tested. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and wanted to do more!

Sue Middleton, Flying Goose Quilting, Llanwrtyd Wells

I’ve done a couple of workshops with Cecilia and found her tuition both clear and well planned; work was presented in bite-size chunks and progression from stage to stage was never overwhelming.

My FMQ experience was non-existent at the outset but Cecilia’s quiet encouragement gave me the confidence to learn new techniques and has inspired me to develop this skill even further.

                                                                                  Felicity Bevan, Quilter, Welshpool

‘We were a group of anxious ladies but with your calm personality you made for a relaxed atmosphere. We were not put under any pressure which helped to teach us what we thought was impossible - Free Motion quilting. We have learnt such a lot in a short time, so thank you Cecilia’.
