PROFILE
Indulged by my Grandmother who spent a great deal of time encouraging me to experiment with many crafts ... like many Quilters I started sewing at a very early age.
In 2005 my husband and I moved to the picturesque location of Montgomery on the border of England and Wales looking out over The Offa's Dyke Path.
My love with Quilting developed at this time and having made a Sampler Quilt ... courtesy of Lynne Edwards' Sampler Quilt Books and diving straight into the deep end; made it King
Size !!!! I soon realised I couldn't quilt it on my small Elna sewing machine, and as it
contained 'Flying Geese' was told it couldn't be edge to edge quilted; that it needed
custom quilting ... in a nutshell I was not happy with the result and decided that if anyone was going to spoil my work it would only be me and set out to learn Free-Motion-Quilting !!
The rest as they say is history !!!
I now spend my time working on my expanding collection of Bernina Sewing Machines: a 550QE, a Q20 sit down long-arm (an indulgence !!) and an Overlocker … courtesy of a friend. Free-Motion-Quilting is a real passion and I love quilting Wholecloths; Vintage and Art Pieces amongst a variety of other quilting and patchwork techniques.
Another passion is teaching and find it immensely gratifying to watch Students develop their skills. I am also very proud to be able to say that I have received Awards for my work and within the past 12 months have won two Competitions and have had my pieces Exhibited in several exhibitions.
I am a member of the British Quilters Guild and both the Modern and Contemporary Groups. I also run a Craft and Sewing Group just South of Shrewsbury..
